“He has made everything beautiful in its time, Also He has put eternity in their hearts” (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
It was Theologian Wayne Grudem who stated, “it does not seem difficult to think that the description of the heavenly city with gates and a wall and foundation is a description of something that is literal and real.”
I remember reading when Barbara Walters hosted a two-hour television documentary on the subject of heaven. She discovered during her research that most people on this planet, regardless of their religious persuasion, do not think that life on earth ends here. We do not believe that this is all there is. In America for example, nine out of ten people believe that heaven is a real place.
The Bible teaches that God has placed eternity in our hearts; and that we are made to live forever, and we instinctively know that there’s more life than our threescore and-ten. How wonderful to study the subject of heaven in the Bible and learn more about the eternal home for God’s children. Read Revelation 21 and 22 it is a virtual travel guide for the new heavens, the new earth, and the New Jerusalem.
Our passport, however, is all important knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He said in John 11:25-26: “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me though he may die, he shall live, and who ever lives and believes in Me shall never die.”
