Love beyond Borders!

It is just amazing what is happening now in the City of Philadelphia. I read this in the latest news, “Hundreds of people gathered in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh to protest the death in Minneapolis of George Floyd, but the peaceful demonstrations later turned violent with cars set ablaze and other property damage.”

A true Christian is one who is acquainted with Christ’s love for strangers and should love enemies in an excellent and pure way. We know the world is not familiar with Christ’s love and therefore only loves its own, but we are acquainted with it, and therefore we should love others. Look what Jesus said, “As I have loved you, so you must love one another” (John 13:34).

When you read the Gospels you would find that Jesus Christ came from heaven not only to repair and preserve the notions of the Godhead by the greatness of his sufferings, but to give us a more exact pattern of love and to instill this love between His creations. Jesus said a new commandment I give you: Love one another. We cannot love one another without understanding the Love of God in Christ Jesus. So the command of loving one another is an excellent command, its’ like a new song that comforts the broken heart. The love of Christ encourages us to love one another. How can we be estranged from one another if we are planning to meet in heaven? We should learn to work together in love and meekness.

Couple of truths to embrace:

  1. Honor one another that love may overcome hate.
  2. Do not let differences of opinion divide you. Learning to be one heart and mind about everything; but if they differ, learn to cherish others for what they have that is of God given.
  3. Beware of allowing love to degenerate into compliance. Always remember there are evil alliances that are not of God, which you must be aware of in case you join other people, depart from God, and turn love into compliance.

You are called to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). Therefore measure your attitude to other people by that yardstick. Your love has to go beyond borders and that could only happen when Christ becomes real in your life.
